Ahh what do I say about Queen of the Damned?
I really liked this movie, but at the same time, I didn't like it. I thought that on it's own merit, QotD was a good film. However, having read the books (The Vampire Lestat and QotD), this was a too-condensed, not true-to-the-work movie. The characters were all wrong in appearance...I mean, Lestat is supposed to have blond hair and blue eyes, and they choose Stu Townsend to play him, an actor who has brown eyes and hair. Akasha was portrayed well by the late Aaliyah, Vince Perez played Marius well, but didn't look the part as Marius was meant to have long white hair...not short brown....Armand looked UGLY....Jesse looked good and I really like Margurite Moreau as her...
The story was so convuluted by trying too hard that it lost a lot of the mysticism of the novels by cramming them together. I would have liked it better if TVL and QotD were two independent films; then perhaps they would have told the story better.
As a side note; Jonathan Davis of Korn did an amazing job on the vocals of Lestat and the entire soundtrack.

To be rather frank I didnt think much to this movie at all.. I felt it could have been so much better and Townsend was not the right person to be Lestat .. Of course that may well just be because I dont like to see different actors play the same role as it takes away some of the realism..

I agree with you there, VD. I gotta say that Tom looked more the part but Townsend really had the coldness and arrogance that I associate with Lestat.

just realized that Vampire Desire might not be such a good name ... Especially when shortened... What do you think of Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom ? I was wondering how they would go as Lestat and Louis or even Heath Ledger in one of the parts.. They all have that beautiful look... I think Johnny would in looks be a good Lestat and Heath would also be a good Lestat.. Orlando would make a great Louis because he has that soft voice and a gentle kind of nature about him..

LOL Orlando and Heath and Johnny would be nothing more than a droolfest, especially if they did the erotic things Brad and Tom did in the film =) Merrick

*laughs lightly*
you know orlando would make a good vampire.....I wouldn't mind being bitten by him *winks*.
They should make a movie for orlando where he is a vampire.
I dunno about johnny depp....I think he would be too funny to be one.....*shrugs*
As for QOTD I have the dvd movie, I REALLY liked it, even though I didn't read the books, still I though stuart townsend played a good lestat, I mean come on, he was "sexy" *laughs*
Aaliyah, she did good in playing akasha.
I would also have to agree, with johnathan davis in korn being the voice for lestat singing and then stuart lip singing it in the movie. I like the violin music too, I just have a thing with violins, very seductive and relaxing *winks*
and it was sad seeing akasha die in the movie, I just felt so sad...*frowns*

i liked the film for what it was but that wasnt much. i thought that tom did a much better job as lestat though townsend does have that arognace about him that made his preformance intresting.
i would like to see TVL and QOTD done seperatly so they tell the story properly and i would like to see chracters made to look like they were written not as the people think they would suite the modern times better
